Easy Windows Operating System Recovery and the Activation of Windows

If your computer was installed with Windows 10, 8.1 or 8, then your product key will be embedded into the computer's BIOS chip. This was carried out by the large OEMs to preserver activation codes, as many product keys were paper stickers that ended up unreadable or lost. Using this BIOS method the COA and product key will never get removed or destroyed and the product key will always be associated with the computer. If your system was made by a large OEM manufacturer, then you will not need to type in a Windows serial number to activate or install it, Windows 10, 8 and 8 will automatically retrieve it from the BIOS and active it.

If your reinstall or repair is for an older operating system such as Windows 7, Windows vista or Windows XP then your product key / activation code will be on your COA (Certificate of Authenticity) which is normally a sticker on your computer.Sometimes your COA can be on a separate piece of cardboard or an actual certificate (normally for older operating systems). Remember that if your operating system is Windows 8 or higher then you will not need to type in a Windows product key / Windows serial number. Windows will automatically retrieve it from your BIOS and then automatically activate your Windows.

Easy Driver Recovery Software

The Major vendors such as Acer, Dell, HP Compaq and many more only support the latest operating system for their new hardware. So for example if you buy a laptop with Windows 10, the manufacturer will not support Windows 7 or any drivers for that machine. Conversely you may want to put Windows 7 on a new machine that was shipped with Windows 10, again the drivers for the newer machine will not be available for Windows 7 users. Easy Recovery has solved this issue. The Easy Recovery Driver Repair Install Software (supplied with all recovery products)

A step-by-step guide to using the driver recovery and repair media

Driver Recovery Step 1
Once you computer has started up and you are in your desktop, just inset the DVD / USB flash drive or mount the ISO. If your computer has auto-run enabled the wizard will automatically start. If you do not have auto-run enabled then you will have to navigate to your DVD / USB flash drive and double click the driver software icon.

Driver Recovery Step 2
If your computer still does not start the driver recovery application, then you will need to double click the setup icon. Once the application starts you may see a security warning. The security warning is normal and you will just need to select [Yes] so that the software can install your drivers.

Driver Recovery Step 3
Now you can see the Easy Recovery driver recovery welcome screen! We are ready to start, just click the [Next] button and follow the instructions.

Driver Recovery Step 4
Now you will need to agree to the license agreement, this is just the usual legal stuff which you should read.

Driver Recovery Step 5
After you have clicked the [Next] Button the software will start the scan and match process. This can take up-to 20 minutes as the software is matching every hardware device id to every driver on the source media and installing the latest and best driver for each hardware device.

Driver Recovery Step 6
During the scan and match process you may see an alert box. This means the software has found a device driver that needs your permission to install. This does not always happen and depends on your computers security settings. Select the [Install] or [Yes] button to allow the system to install the driver.

Driver Recovery Step 7
Once the scan and match process is complete you will notice a box with a list of many drivers with green ticks, each tick represents a driver that has been tested against your hardware, it does not represent which drivers have been installed. However if there are any red crosses, this means a driver was found that was defective or corrupt.

Driver Recovery Step 8
All you need to do now is reset your computer if you are promoted to, and the driver update is complete.

Just put the disk into the computer, with a running operating system, and the software will do the rest.
